Frequently asked questions

If your child has their own bike and helmet then bring them along with you. Instructors will be able to safety check them and ensure they are suitable and the right size for your child.

If your child doesn't have a bike, no problem. We'll have a range of bikes available on a limited basis

Ensure your child is dressed in suitable clothing for riding a bike. For example we recommend closed toe shoes and no loose clothing that could get caught in moving parts.

We still ride in the rain, so if it's looking damp bring along a raincoat and a warm layer.

A drink, snacks and any personal medication are also good to bring

All sessions are completely free to attend, this includes any equipment you may need to use during the session.

We have a range of kids bikes available for use at each course

Our bikes are either balance bikes or pedal bikes  - our emphasis is on teaching kids how to balance, so we do not use training wheels on any of our bikes

We have 12" and 16" balance bikes, and 18", 20" and 24" pedal bikes

Kids Learn to Ride courses are suited for kids ages 2 - 8 years old.

This age restriction is largely due to the bike sizes we have available at these courses. If you have an older child with their own bike who would like to learn, then you are welcome to bring them and their bike along.

If you have a teenager who is already riding a bike and who would like to upskill, please get in touch to see how we can help.

Sure thing! It will be great to keep you involved in the session with your child. We won't have bikes or space available for adults to ride alongside their children, but our instructors work with parents as well to give them tips and tricks to support their child as they get started on a bike.
